About box
box, short for Building Open Xchange, started as a collaborative LLC of architects, interior designers, sustainability consultants, and developers working to come up with innovative design solutions for client projects. Together they oversaw projects such as the construction administration of Rivers Condominiums, redevelopment of Hopswork Brewery, and awarded projects via design competitions such as St Johns Alley.
Amy Green, LEED AP & Associate AIA, owner and founder of [box] decided to bring Portland’s design style and green building mentality to New York City by expanding box’s offices. Amy’s known throughout the industry for performing expedient feasibility and permit studies. One of her signature services is being able to quickly perform climate analysis on a project site to recommend a set of sustainable strategies that would be most beneficial for the project given site and environmental conditions. One of her specialty services is design build fabrication of sustainable light fixtures and furniture. She’s a LEED AP with a decade of experience in the industry who has coordinated several LEED projects including St John’s Alley,1 Hotel & Residences, and Hopswork Brewery. She is a writer for USGBC’s Green Home Guide, has taught several green building courses at the Art Institute of Portland, and has been a speaker at several green building conferences including Green Building NY, Fit Nation New Orleans: Healthy Communities By Design, and DPC’s Sustainable Design Workshop.
